Employed by: Harbor Montessori as Art Teacher. 2004- 2008

Being part Native American and a member of the Choctaw Tribe, I attended the University of Oklahoma and received funding per college semester with tribal grants. I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting at the University of Oklahoma in 2002 with a minor in anthropology (in Native American studies) and archaeology. These college years were very important. They allowed me to understand who I was as a young Christian woman, contemporary artist and value my Native American heritage.

With a visit to Europe in 2000, I learned old master techniques in painting with an emphasis in Fresco and tromp'loeil. I studied in Florence for two months studying art in churches, art museums and had several classes at the Lorenzo de'Medici school of Art. My work today has an Italian old master emphasis in landscapes to portraiture.

I lived most of my life in Kansas, so after college, between 2002 and 2004, I co-owned a contemporary and traditional art gallery with my father called The Studio Gallery (where the name of my website originated). We had opening receptions, live music and international art exhibits. My current studio is set up like the gallery I had in Kansas with track lighting and exhibition walls.

Portraits are my specialty. They are painted in oil on canvas from photograph or private sitting. The Landscapes I depict are oil and acrylic on canvas. The murals are in acrylic. Currently, I am represented by Harbor Gallery in Gig Harbor and have many pieces in private collections in Europe and the United States.

The public is welcome to visit my studio. Please call in advance.
